Clara, retired music critic and widow, is the last resident of Aquarius, an original two-story building from the 1940s in Recife. All the neighboring apartments have been acquired by a company with other plans for that plot. But Clara has pledged to only leave her place upon her death.
Kleber lives in Recife, northeastern Brazil, where he was born and raised. As a journalist he worked for Jornal do Commercio and Folha de São Paulo among others. In the 90s, he made several documentaries and experimental shorts, produced through his company, CinemaScópio. Neighboring Sounds, his debut feature, is from 2012.
